When we refer to keywords, we inevitably think of Google. In fact, the term began to be widely disseminated by the same tool until it became an important variable in internet searches.

1. On the home page of the tool, click on the “tools” menu and then “Keyword Planner”.

2. On the next page, click on “Search keywords”. Type in your original keywords and then click on “Start”.

3. Next, you will find a keyword panel with two options in the header: “Ad Group Ideas” and “Keyword Ideas”. Select “Keyword Ideas” and review all the suggestions offered by the tool.

With the generated table, you will be able to identify additional keywords that people often search on Google, and that is related to the ones you inserted at the beginning (as a result, your niche).

Interpreting the keywords

When analyzing keywords, we need to take into account their attributes. I usually say that a keyword should be evaluated on 4 different aspects:

  • Search volume.
  • The difficulty of positioning.
  • Purchase intent.
  • Position for the keyword at the moment.

There are many cases in which you can buy a word in Google Ads. From generating more traffic, and more conversions, to spreading an offer, either directly or indirectly.

One of the options that arise as an opportunity when analyzing a keyword panel is to buy the word when there is a combination of a bad position and low price.

This option also coincides with what we said about the SEO optimization of a certain page: When you purchase an ad in Google and link it to a landing page, you can measure the conversion rate of that term to decide whether it is worth the effort to be on Google’s first page.
